When you place your order of REDD+ offsets/VERs, the offsets will be retired on your behalf. You will receive a certificate and a record of the VER serial numbers that were retired. If you have any questions, please Wildlife Works at

Furthermore, traveling with Green-Safari raises funds for a small reforestation project adjacent to the Buffalo Camp, Tsavo East Kenya. Every tree planted counts.

Chakama Upendo Women's Group Member, Tsavo Buffalo Camp is situated on the edges of the Chakama District. Chakama is the name of the largest village with smaller ones dotted around it. The people in this part of Kenya are from a mixture of tribal heritages the majority being Giriama, Kamba and Wala.

Volunteers learning how to weave with sisal

The first impressions we had when meeting the Chakama Updendo Women's Group was how close knit all the women were and the intergenerational mix when it comes to childcare. The energy of the young people is galvanizing. Definitely one of the best parts of a Green-Safari is the opportunity to be welcomed and taught by such skilled and resilient women.

Volunteering with the Chakama Women is perfect for those with: a creative flare and willing to share ideas, with some experience of making crafts out of recycled or organic products, or just a genuine interest in cultural exchange.

Main entrance to Kakuyuni Deaf School, Malindi, Kenya

On route to Tsavo East we often pass a very special school - the only of it's kind in the whole County - the Kakuyuni Deaf School. Here volunteers can take part in planned projects designed in partnership with the head teacher and in consultation with the students.

Happy student at Kakuyuni Deaf School

Kakuyni has over 65 students from the ages of 5 to 18 years and a mixture of girls and boys. It is a boarding school with 2 dormitories - which are currently over capacity. We have various fundraising activities locally to support the schools' capacity to cater for the high demand of students - please ask when you arrive in your hotel to get involved!
